It is a good time for dysphagia professionals. The condition of dysphagia is getting much more public attention and technology companies across the globe are starting to play an active role by developing innovative, evidence-based tools that greatly enhance the treatment options available to clinicians.
From technologies aiming to directly stimulate the brain to sophisticated exercise devices to help tongue exercise, there is a proliferation of such devices and it’s only starting! This webinar will review many of these tools and will present some of the research underpinnings of each: neuromuscular electrical stimulation, sEMG biofeedback, pressure biofeedback, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and more. A brief introduction will make the case for a system-wide adoption of an aggressive, comprehensive dysphagia management and treatment plan. This will be followed by a detailed review of some of the newer technologies that have emerged in the field in the past decade, and some of those that are on the near horizon.
This webinar will benefit all treating clinicians – physicians and therapists – who actively manage a dysphagia case load.
